Jeff and I went to Cartwright last weekend to visit the kids. It's the first time that I had been there since May. I've seen the kids this summer, I just haven't been to their house. I wanted to get some pictures of the kids in the what field and we got there just in time. They acutally combined the field the day after we shot these photos.

Jeffrey and Macy kept me busy hunting while I was there. We would take turns hiding the stuffed animals, then hunting for them. We were very successful with each hunt that we did.

I was going to run the 5k race in Cartwright on Labor Day, but Jeff ended up getting sick and we had to come home early on Sunday. Oh well, that's just the way things go sometimes.

Growing

I had my first supper out of my garden last night. I made a nice salad with this lettuce. Can I just say, "Oh, yum!!"

Everything is growing very nicely. The cucumbers have been a real challenge. Jeff has planted them a couple of different times, but we thought that we must have had bad seed. We finally just bought a few cucumber plants and planted those. Now it appears that the cucumber seeds may be sprouting. Maybe we'll have cucumbers coming out of our ears.

The radishes have all been harvested for the time being. We do have another row that is almost ready. The cabbage is looking really nice right now.

We also have carrots, onions, green and red peppers, tomatoes, cilantro and spinach. Again I say, Oh yum!!

Week 1

Week one is done and I've gone 33.81 miles. It hasn't been an easy week for me as I've been battling blisters on my feet for the last few days. Who knew that you weren't supposed to wear cotton socks. I've always looked for and bought cotton socks. No more though. Now I have some good moisture wicking socks and the blisters are healing. They're not entirely gone yet, but they are getting better. I went three miles this morning, and since it's raining tonight I thought it was a good night to really give the feet a rest. Hopefully it will quit raining and I can start the next week out with a good run in the morning.

Lazy Sunday afternoon

A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, cup of coffee, Kindle and a comfy chair out in the yard.

Watching this.

And this. hehe

Then we went to a movie and came out to this GORGEOUS sunset.

June 1

June 1, originally uploaded by JAMma Gramma.

I'm going to be training this summer to run as a member of a marathon relay team in September. We have five people from work that will be on this team. My real goal is to run the first leg of the relay team, then keep going and run the 1/2 marathon. Its' going to mean a lot of work this summer and some serious dedication, but I know that I can do it. I want to log 300 miles by the end of summer (August 31). That's 100 miles per month or about 25 miles per week. I need to find a counter widget to add to my blog. Does anyone know how to do that?

Fargo Marathon

The Fargo Marathon was this weekend. I ran the 5K on Friday night. I was pretty proud of myself for being able to run the entire route. My goal was to finish in under 40 minutes and my official time was 37.49. Julie and Lilly cheered me on. They even had a sign made. It was great. Next race: September 18, marathon relay.

Macy & Tyler have a secret

Can't you just imagine what Tyler is saying to Macy??

Macy sure thinks that her daddy is funny!!

Yep...Let's stick our tongues out at Grandma.
